I shouldn't complain because my winter break was way longer than what others.
Though it was a long holiday but unfortunately, it was not a productive one. I
aimed to read a lot of kids books over the holiday or at least start some
lesson planning. But, hehe - things don't usually turn out as you want right? O
well, I had a nice break from school and it felt as if it was long overdue!
This was my first X'mas holiday in Vancouver
and here's a short recap of what i did...
1) Spent 2 weeks with my aunt and cousins. It was nice to see family
over the winter break. Although, we ended up being busy (shopping and running
errands) so it wasn't entirely relaxing. We went to Banff and it was gorgeous! Unfortunately, I
had food poisoning and I was sick throughout the whole trip. That given, I
enjoyed the scenery and again, it was nice to spend time with family.
2) X'mas dinners. I went to two impressive home-made X'mas dinners. It
was nice because it was rather different to the X'mas dinners that I'm
accustomed to. Normally, I would be having X'mas buffets at home to celebrate
my step-mom's b-day. But, this time I had a lovely 7 course meal cooked by a chef
pal and it was superb. The highlight of the dinner was my x'mas pressie from my
dearest pal Steve! He made me a cute pink cushion!!! Thx a ton sweetie!
3) SHOPPING SPREES. My goodness – Crazy shopping sprees took place prior
the boxing day sales. However, the shopping sprees persisted and till nearly
the end of the month. It felt as if I was shopping was the only thing I did for
the whole month! It's ALMOST ridiculous. Keyword here - ALMOST. I promised not
to shop again for a good little while….I can’t bare to look at my credit card
bill. (Its worth it – its worth it!)
4) Hot yoga. Time to shed off the holiday
weight! I was bored and lazy to go back to UBC for the gym. So, I took this
time to try new stuff out. My school pal told me mentioned it awhile ago and it
seemed fun. Man, its INTENSE, for me at least. All I did was sweat for the
whole class and to my surprise it felt really good! I joined it and went
several times. I dragged my pal Filia to join as well and we agreed to go at
least once a week. I know its not seem a lot but it’s a commitment I’m talking about
>.<. Its nice to do it with a friend. Once school starts I’ll be visiting
the gym more often….need some time off from sch/work.
5) Catching up with pals! I was glad that
I had a chance to meet up a lot of my pals over this X’mas break – something
that I’ve been longing to do. Lots of catching up to do and it was great to
hear from a lot of them. Talking to them makes me realize how much we’ve
changed – part of the growing up process eh? People graduating, leaving Van,
moving on… It makes me value the time I had with each and one of them.
All in all – I had
a nice break away from sch. 06 wasn’t all that brilliant for me – I’m hoping 07
will be better. As my fortune cookie msg says– ‘Your future will be happy
and productive”. I hope its going to come true. Insane schedule coming
up - Wed goes from 8am-8pm….featuring 3 hrs of French class. FAB isn’t?
Take care all and
good luck!!
You’re a STAR if
you had the time to read or even skim through all this >.< xoxo
